Rest Secure

“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders." Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIV)

For Your Reflection… There is a tenderness to God's character that many people miss. It's much easier to picture a harsh, disciplinarian father than a God who invites us to cling to him, resting between his shoulders in a piggyback or hug. However, this is part of God's nature. Whatever you are going through right now, rest secure that you are invited to cling to God in such an intimate way without being chastised. Talk to him about your fears today, and then, simply cling to him.
