Let’s face it. Pain, suffering, and stress are virtually inevitable in life. My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe place for my clients to begin exploring and healing the wounds of the past, managing present difficulties, and working toward a more fulfilled and healthier future. I do this in a variety of ways that are personalized to the client and their specific needs. Often this includes the use of conversation and questions, formal and informal assessments, real-world tasks, etc.
First and foremost, my style is relational. I like to take some time getting to know my clients and developing a therapeutic relationship that is warm and friendly. I approach treatment in a holistic way, meaning dysfunction and stress can impact an individual in many different ways, some areas that may be explored are physical health, emotional health, social health, occupational health, financial health, and spiritual health.
I am a follower of Christ, which does impact my style, but I enjoy working with clients from a variety of religious and spiritual backgrounds. I take very seriously the importance of providing a space that is free from judgment where clients can feel safe enough to be their most authentic selves and I do my best to model that as well.
My undergraduate education highly emphasized family studies and education and I graduated in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Lindenwood University.
